Itapos;s Monday night, so that means Chuck and Heroes. Both shows, for me, at the core came to trust. Who do you trust? What do you believe? Whoapos;s good? Whoapos;s bad? Are you right? And is it that simple in the end game?
I love TV that makes me ask questions. NIghts like this make me miss Joan of Arcadia and The West Wing. Thoughtful TV is a great thing.
Letapos;s start with Chuck. In the new episode, Bryce is back (oh joy) and Fulcrumapos;s trying to steal part of the Intersect part three. So, our fav team (and Bryce)have to crash a party. But this time, Sarah and Bryce are the hot married couple and Chuckapos;s the waiter. You can guess how that when down. Oh yeah, and bullies at the BuyMore. More under the cut.
- First, I donapos;t trust Bryce. I donapos;t completely believe he has Chuckapos;s best interest at heart. Ithink heapos;s a user with a thing for Sarah. Oh, and find it odd that everytime Fulcrumapos;s a problem, heapos;s there. Idonapos;t trust him. It might be because we see a lot of the story through the eyes of Chuck and his supporters, but donapos;t like Bryce.
- The flashback was telling for something later on. Sarah could shoot when it was Bryce because that was more about lust. But she feels deeper for Chuck and couldnapos;t risk hitting him, so she froze.
- I think that whole Bryce/Chuck talk about Sarah and her feelings and the mission was Bryceapos;s way of insuring that Chuck backed off of Sarah
- I really think that Chuck is a weird version of xxxHolic. Chuck clearly = Watanuki. Casey = Domeki (especially in this episode), Sarah = Himawari. Iapos;m not sure if that means that the general = Yuko (she is female and sometimes cryptic), but other than that, it works.
- Ilike Ellie/Awesome and the whole Awesome confrontation with "Sarahapos;s ex". (He never met Bryce did he? Bryce was pre-Awesome, right?) And Ellie is such a sweet sister.
- Anna is kick ass. And Ilove how Casey took the words out of my mouth. After asking for a background check, he said he had found a potential field agent. Oh, please follow this idea up. Secret agent Anna, in on the Chuck thing but not being able to tell Morgan would be super cool.
- Bryce, of course, loads the Intersect update into Chuck, hense another great line of the night, "I hate Bryce Larkin."
After Chuck is Heroes. In this episode, "Angels and Monsters", everything becomes gray. Peter all Sylar enhanced is trying to kill people while claiming not to be Sylar, complete with Angela rushing in to save one of her sons and almost getting killed in the process. Claireapos;s out hunting baddies, causing the momapos;s to get together and strategize. Noah and Sylar play some more "Good Cop, Bad Cop". Nathan and Tracye get very close. Hiro and Ando are out digging up Adam. Mohinderapos;s being creepy as hell. Oh, and Daphneapos;s putting together a team. Confused yet? Well, your head will really hurt when you try to decide who are the heroes and who are the demons. More under the cut.
- Iapos;m not sure Ican trust the narrator to point out the good and bad guys for me. And thatapos;s not just because Nathan was narrating all of a sudden. Iapos;m not quite sure what that means. But the people that Iwas supposed to think were bad came off as good this episode. And the good guys? Clueless, self-centered, and/or dangerously psychotic.
- Why is Mohinder killing people and then covering them in grossness and sticking them on the wall?
- We now know why LInderman was seen by Daphne and Nathan (Mattapos;s Dad has got the gift and heapos;s got to use it). Why is Mr. Petrelli so bad he scares Angela (total in control Bitch Angela) and in a state where it seems he was almost killed?
- the whole Adam/Hiro/Ando bit was funny.
- Speaking of...did Hiro really kill Ando?
- Anyway, Iapos;m pretty sure Mayaapos;s dead. Iapos;m okay with that. Mohinder/Maya was being to weird me out. And not just because Mohinder has gone very scary on us.
- The showdown will be between natural v synthetic gifts. Who has "made in a lab"gifts? Tracye, Niki, Barbara, and Nathan...that we know of. It seems Peter and Sylar were born with theirs. As was Claire, probably. Was Elle?
- By the way, where is Elle?
- I liked the side of Claire we saw today...but the almost Claire/Sylar near bonding thing was odd. Does Sylar know heapos;s Claireapos;s uncle? Does Noah? And what the heck is going on in Claireapos;s head? We know she doesnapos;t complete trust Sylar (although she might in some things from this point on...seeing as how he saved her and all), but she doesnapos;t completely trust Daddy anymore either. At this point, Nathan and Tracye all the more stable enviroment. She should be with them.
- Peterapos;s in a coma. And Nathanapos;s uber pissed at Angela
- Nathan trusts Mohinder...which is kinda a mistake now.
- Oh, and Daphapos;s team: Daphne, Knox, Adam, Hiro (that should work well), and Matt. If the future we saw is still in play, Claireapos;s got to come online at some point.
- And that bad guy that Meredith was afraid of? Creepy. Majorly creepy.
A lot happened in thest two hours, so what are your thoughts?
